Welcome to our Visitation Nights Blog!

September 24, 2008

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to New Song’s blog about Visitation Nights!
Over the past few weeks we went out and visited hundreds of people from our church, just to let them know that we care about them and that we are glad they are a part of our family. We know there were tons of great experiences and conversations that happened over the past few weeks, and we want to give people a chance to share them, and also to hear other people’s stories as well!

So, enjoy the following stories of how Visitation Nights touched people’s lives!

Neighbors from New Song!

September 30, 2008

Michele and I went out and visited. It was an eyeopener to know how many neighbors attended New Song.
Our first stop we got to pray for a family that has been facing health issues. It was a quick stop but the prayer was much appreciated.
Our second stop was a family that we had been in a small group with years ago. We got to pray with them about a teenage son that was struggling.
Our third house was actually Walt (that greets us every Sunday at church)! It was such a blessing to greet him (for a change)!
We ended up a six homes. what a blast!

God answered 2 prayers at the same time.:)

I had a need for a part-time assistant for months, but budget was not available.

During visitation, Ofelia and I visited this house twice but the lady of the house was on vacation. On the last day to do visits, Thursday, I put in a request to hire a temporary employee and prayed that I may find a good worker right away. That night was our 3rd day to go to this house. She was finally there and when I asked how we could pray for her, she said she needed a job, maybe a part-time job because she was going back to school. Wow! It hit me right then and there and told her that I think God sent me to her to answer her prayer as well as mine. I asked for her resume which she sent the next day and I recommended her for hiring the same day. She started working for me last Thursday. Yeah, God!— g

Great time!

September 29, 2008

Iva and I had a great time visiting!  At one of our stops, a teenage son greeted us after we knocked on the door.  He said, come on in!  Mom and Dad were upstairs; mom was taking a shower…or something.  So we thought, uh oh, will this be weird???  Well a minute or two later, Mom came down and invited us it to sit down.  We had a great chat and ended up staying for a half hour or so.  Met the hubby…what a cool couple!  Since they are our neighbors, we got to meet another friendly face in our neighborhood…which was cool.  Plus we have another weekend friend.  They were totally blessed by our prayer time.  God is good.
